Fulham midfielder Michael Timlin has been picked in the Republic of Ireland’s under 21 squad for the forthcoming Madeira tournament.

The Irish, who won the event in 2004, will take on hosts Madeira on Tuesday before playing Finland on Wednesday and finishing the tournament against Portugal on Friday night. They will watched by national team manager Steve Staunton on Tuesday, according to under-21 coach Don Givens.
