Fulham midfielder Papa Bouba Diop could be set to sign a new deal at Craven Cottage.

The Senegalese powerhouse has been linked with a big money move away from west London, with Manchester United and Arsenal both mooted as admirers.

But Craig Hutchinson, who has been made sole representative of Diop by the player’s elder brother Abou, revealed Fulham have put a new contract on the table.

“Papa’s preference and intention is to stay and Fulham’s intention is to keep him so I don’t see where a problem is going to arise,” said Hutchinson.

“The offer that Fulham have made is signifying they want him to stay and that they rate him as one of the key members of the squad.

“It’s a positive and sensible offer. It is very much in line for a player that Fulham rate and shows a desire to keep the player.

“There is no pressing hurry. Papa is away at the African Nations Cup at the moment and has over two years left on his contract.”
