Antti Niemi is in talks with Fulham over a £1million move from Southampton.

The former Rangers goalkeeper is close to sealing a return to the Premiership, according to the Daily Express.

The paper says a fee was finally agreed between the two clubs on Friday night, leaving Niemi to agree personal terms at Craven Cottage.

The Finnish stopper has been one of the country’s top goalkeepers in recent seasons, and has been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal in the past.

If he does sign on the dotted line at Fulham it will end the club’s search for a new number one ‘keeper.

They lost Edwin van der Sar to Manchester United in the summer, and Tony Warner – signed from Cardiff earlier this week – is expected to be the second-choice.
