Chris Coleman is desperate for a victory in the FA Cup this weekend to end Fulham’s recent poor run – and openly admits that all the pressure is on the Premier League side as they face lower league Leyton Orient.
“The pressure’s all on Fulham. I’ll be happy to go through with a 1-0 victory. Leyton Orient are coming to us with a lot of confidence, they’re at the top of their league and it’s going to be a tough game considering the players we’re going to have missing.”
The Whites allayed their relegation fears with a 2-1 win over Sunderland last week but that victory came at a cost with injuries to Papa Bouba Diop and Steed Malbranque likely to rule the pair out of this London derby.
“Our guys know what type of game it’s going to be and it doesn’t matter how we get through it, we’ve just got make sure we win the game. Once you get to the quarter-final stages of the FA Cup anything can happen. It’s a great competition; it’s the greatest domestic cup competition in the world. We’ve seen so many upsets down the years and there’ll be more upsets this weekend. We’ve just got to make sure it doesn’t happen to us.”
