Fulham boss Chris Coleman and Newcastle star Lee Clark were involved in a tunnel bust-up at Craven Cottage yesterday.

The former Fulham team-mates clashed after Fulham’s 1-0 victory and one eyewitness told The SP that Clark had to be restrained as he tried to lunge at Coleman.

Coleman and Clark fell out in the past when the Welshman refused to give the midfielder a new contract at Fulham.

Coleman later confirmed an incident had taken place, saying: “It was handbags really. Just a few verbals. He’s my old mate, you know!”

But the eye-witness said: “It got pretty nasty. At one stage it looked like Lee was shaping up for a punch at Chris but a few people got in the way.”
