Michael Brown has been appointed Fulham’s club captain following Luis Boa Morte’s departure for West Ham.

The midfielder’s first outing as full-time skipper will be Saturday afternoon’s FA Cup third round tie at Leicester.

“Michael Brown is an infectious player who’s led by example this season through his performances on the pitch,” manager Chris Coleman said “He’s been there for us all season and has possibly been one of the club’s most consistent players. Since he joined Fulham, he’s been terrific and performed brilliantly in midfield in the absence of a number of injured players – he was the obvious choice to take over as club captain.”
