Fulham boss Chris Coleman has told Alain Goma he will be given a new contract if he maintains his current form.

Goma has nailed down a regular place in Fulham’s line-up following an injury-hit 18 months and is now Coleman’s preferred option at centre-back alongside Carlos Bocanegra.

The 33-year-old Frenchman’s existing deal runs out at the end of the season but Coleman will offer fresh terms if he continues to impress.

“I’ve not sat down with Alain yet but all he needs to do is keep playing the way he is and he’ll get a new contract. He’s been tremendous for us,” said Coleman.

“I’ve talked briefly with the board about the possibility of keeping Alain here, now he just needs to keep playing the way he is. That will happen, I’ve no doubt about it.”
