Fulham are reported to be closing in on the signing of New Zealand international Simon Elliott.

Reports emanating from New Zealand suggest that Elliott has agreed terms over a move to Craven Cottage and will complete the formalities when the transfer window reopens in January.

The 31-year-old is believed to have undergone a trial at Fulham earlier this season and did enough to warrant being offered a contract

Elliott is available on a free transfer from MLS side Colombus Crew and Coleman has moved quickly to sort out a deal, with Sunderland also reported to be keen on his signature.

The midfielder came to Coleman’s attention after impressing in a pre-season friendly against Fulham and he has continued to keep tabs on his progress.

Coleman is keen to bolster his squad and with Elliott available on a free he is an attractive proposition.
