Fulham are reported, in the Italian media, to be planning a January transfer raid for 22-year-old Seria A attacking midfielder Alexei Eremenko.

Eremenko arrived in Italy in September 2004 and has appeared 33 times for Lecce, however this season he has fallen out of favour at the struggling Puglia club.

Although a Finnish International Eremenko was born in Russia. He moved to Finland with his family after his father had transferred to FF Jaro from Spartak Moscow. In Finland Eremenko played with Jokerit Helsinki and HJK Helsinki.

He won the Finnish championship with HJK twice (2002 and 2003) and the Finnish Cup in 2003.

He has also become a key player for the Finland national football team, scoring an impressive eight goals in FIFA World Cup 2006 qualifying.
