Fulham are closing in on the signing of New Zealand midfielder Simon Elliott from Colombus Crew, according to the Daily Mirror.

The experienced midfielder, who played in the MLS side’s pre-season friendly win over Fulham this summer, has been in London for talks with the Cottagers ahead a proposed free transfer in January. Elliott, who has made more than 50 senior international appearances for New Zealand, is leaving the Crew after six seasons in the MLS.
