Fulham midfielder Papa Bouba Diop is set to miss the club’s game with Manchester City on Saturday.

The Senegalese international injured his hamstring during training and is now a major doubt ahead of the game with Stuart Pearce’s high-flying City.

Diop has been a vital member of Chris Coleman’s team since joining in 2004, having added some much-needed physical presence to The Cottagers’ midfield.

The injury to Diop further lengthens the queue outside the treatment room at Craven Cottage with Mark Pembridge, Sylvain Legwinski and Philippe Christanval all already missing for the tie with Manchester City.

With experienced trio Steed Malbranque, Claus Jensen and Luis Boa Morte also doubts for the game, Coleman will be praying for a miracle to ensure his team can compete with a City side full of confidence following their 3-1 victory over Aston Villa on Monday.
