Fulham chairman Mohamed Al-Fayed has given Chris Coleman his full backing despite the Whites’ disappointing start to the Premier League campaign.
The Cottagers are third from bottom having won just once in eight games, but Al-Fayed told the Evening Standard that he still feels former captain Coleman is the right man for the job at Craven Cottage.
“It has been an unsettled start to the campaign in terms of results and obviously that needs to change as soon as possible. However, I am not unhappy with the style of football we have been playing.”
The eccentric Egyptian was understood to have been encouraged by Fulham’s performance in a 3-2 defeat at Manchester United last weekend, with the visitors widely considered unfortunate to have lost to a Ruud van Nistelrooy goal that appeared clearly offside.
