Fulham boss Chris Coleman fears a return to the poor performances of last year after Fulham’s 2-1 defeat to Blackburn.

A low grade first half performance did not help The Cottagers as they fell to a 2-1 defeat at Ewood Park – although both goals conceded were stunning volleys.

“I’ve never been involved in a game where there were two goals of such high quality,” said Coleman.

“But I’m not making excuses. We lost the game in the first half by being too flimsy and not taking enough responsibility.

“We came out in the second half, got an equaliser and I thought we were the only team that would go on to win it.

“But if you keep making mistakes then you are going to lose the game – simple as that.

“We’ve been beaten by two great strikes, but the first half looked like the Fulham of last season.

“That worried me and I’m not going to accept that.

“Unfortunately, it’s two games into the season and we’ve already got eight guys in the treatment room so we are stretched.

“We’re not making excuses and we’ve got to do better than that.”
