Tottenham have tabled a £4m offer for Fulham winger Luis Boa Morte, according to the Daily Mirror.

The North London club consider the Portuguese international as an ideal candidate to strengthen their left wing options and provide strong competition for Andy Reid.

Boa Morte has told Fulham that he wants to move to a bigger club but boss Chris Coleman is adamant that the former Arsenal winger – upset after the departures of Edwin van der Sar and Andy Cole – will not be leaving Craven Cottage for anything short of £5m. Middlesbrough have made a series of inquiries but have yet to present a formal offer.

Newcastle, who twice tried to buy Boa Morte last year, remained interested in the speedy winger but he is understood to favour a move to Tottenham as he would like to stay in London.
