French striker Steve Marlet seems likely to start the new season at Fulham.

Marlet spent two seasons on loan with Ligue 1 side Marseille, but could not seal a permanent switch back to France.

The £11.5 million singing from Lyon has failed to prove his worth at Craven Cottage and he was expected to secure a transfer away from Chris Coleman’s side over the summer.

However, Marlet has now returned to pre-season training with the London outfit and looks likely to start the season in a Fulham shirt.

Marlet has reportedly turned down moves to Charlton, Newcastle, Lille and Auxerre, along with a money-spinning trip to Qatar side Al-Rayyan.

Marlet will now try to impress Coleman enough to get some regular action at Craven Cottage and prove himself in The Premiership.
