Fulham began their preparation for the new season with a goalless draw at Austrian outfit SK St Andrae in their first friendly.

New signing Ahmad Elrich played the first 45 minutes of a slow and cagey affair. Tomasz Radzinski almost opened the scoring ten minutes after the break when he was put through by Andrew Cole. The Canadian international rounded the goalkeeper but hit the bottom of the post from a tight angle.

Summer signing Jaroslav Drobny, who replaced Mark Crossley at half time, then made a smart save to prevent Fulham from going behind as he blocked brilliantly in a one-on-one. Alain Goma struck the crossbar with a firm header from Adam Green’s corner before Cole spurned two good chances and Zesh Rehman sent a header off target late on.

FULHAM: Crossley (Drobny 45); Volz, Rehman, Goma, Trialist (Green 45); Elrich (Collins 45; Pembridge 70), Jensen (Leacock 60), Pembridge (Pratley 60), Malbranque; Cole, Radzinski.
