Chris Coleman has dismiss the prospect of Darren Pratley joining Swansea on loan – saying Fulham want their promising midfielder playing Championship football next season.

That leaves Kenny Jackett’s hopes of luring the youngster to the Liberty Stadium in tatters.

Coleman told the Western Mail after yesterday’s friendly draw: “My heart says I want to be nice but I have to do what’s right for Darren and Fulham. We don’t want to let him go to a League One side. He needs to go to a Championship team on loan and then come back to us a better player with more first-team experience.

“Swansea are a good team, hard to break down and dangerous on the counter attack. They can do well again this season and win promotion for a second year, then with the new stadium who knows where they can go?”
