Leeds have confirmed they have been unable to agree personal terms with Fulham midfielder Lee Clark.

The 32-year-old considered a free transfer to Leeds, but the Yorkshire club were unable to meet his wage demands, prompting assistant boss Sam Ellis to urge out-of-contract Premiership players to “get real”.

“We have spoken to Lee but at this stage it looks unlikely anything will happen,” Ellis told the Leeds Evening Post. “We are not in a position to do anything with him at this moment. Players coming out of the Premier League have to understand that until they are realistic in their demands, they won’t be coming down to the Championship.”
