Liam Rosenior’s red card was the only downside to Fulham’s fine victory at Blackburn Rovers – and boss Chris Coleman condemned the ‘silly’ defender for putting his side’s winning position in jeopardy.

Coleman, who had no qualms about restoring matchwinner Steed Malbranque to the starting line-up after the French midfielder apologised for storming out of Craven Cottage last week, told his post-match press conference at Ewood Park:

“It was a silly thing for Liam to do. He’s showed his inexperience. It is a shame because he’s going to be a very good player. It could have cost us but we adapted better than Blackburn and that’s why we won the game. I thought it was a great encounter, both sides played with passion and we are delighted with the win.”
