Fulham’s Liam Rosenior is ready to resume his battle with Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford this weekend after an impressive Premier League debut in which he kept the Portuguese phenonium pretty quiet.

The young full-back isn’t short on confidence, having targeting breaking into Chris Coleman’s first team during pre-season, but revealed that the secret to his success is hard work and careful scrutiny of his own game. He told the Evening Standard:

“I get a DVD of every game I play and watch it. All this week the only game I have been watching is the Man United game. I’m trying to be positive from that because they’re on a great run and you have to gain confidence from somewhere and hopefully I’ll gain confidence from watching that game again.”

“If you actually thought it’s Ronaldo running at you it would be 100 times worse. You have just got to concentrate on the ball and not watch his body movements or step overs because if you do, he will be past you in a flash.”
