Fulham striker Brian McBride insists he is happy at the club despite his lack of regular action.

The American international has been forced to play a substitute role for most of the season with Andy Cole the number one striker at Craven Cottage.

McBride is not prepared to rock the boat by demanding more action and is happy to play in any role he is asked to.

“You always want to be playing but it doesn’t frustrate me from the stand point of wanting to change things,” McBride said.

“I had a good understanding of what it was going to be like when I came here and that’s the way it’s been.

“There was a period where I definitely had a little bit of a lull in my fitness and things, but I feel much better now.

“As far as whether I’m happy or unhappy there’s no question, I’m happy. I’m just happy to be a part of this team and whatever job the coach asks of me, I’ll do it.”
