Lee Clark today claimed that Fulham’s season is far from over and urged his team-mates to focus on improving on last season’s ninth place in the Premiership.

Fulham’s FA Cup run ended in a 1-0 defeat at Bolton and there is a danger that they could simply go through the motions until May.

But Fulham captain Clark said: “There’s a lot to play for. What we are aiming to do now as a group of players – and we will be stressing this to each other when we get back in training this week – is try and beat our ninth position last season. We can do it. If we can put on performances like the one at Bolton for next 12 games then we will win more games than we lose.”

Fulham outplayed Bolton but after falling behind to Kevin Davies’s 12th minute strike were unable to convert their superiority into goals.

“I think the least we deserved was to take them back to the Cottage,” said Clark.
