Former Scotland manager Craig Brown is set to return to football at Fulham, according to a report in this morning’s Daily Mirror.

Brown has reportedly turned down the managerial job at A-League outfit Perth Glory as he is set to join the Premiership side at the start of February. The 61 year-old, out of the game since being sacked by Preston earlier this season, is believed to be ready to fulfil a director of football brief with Fulham – offering experienced to the relatively youthful coaching set-up alongside Chris Coleman and his Scottish assistant Steve Kean.

Brown revealed to Perth Glory, who wanted to appoint him as their new boss, last week that he would not be moving to Australia as he had received a better offer from within the Premier League. Brown has previously carried out scouting in Scotland for Fulham – and his arrival on a full-time basis would be well received within the club.
