Fulham have been forced to abandon a move for Mart Poom after the Sunderland keeper was ruled out until mid-January, according to the Sun.

With Edwin van der Sar’s future at Craven Cottage in doubt, boss Chris Coleman wants the Estonian as cover. Poom, 32, was expected to return to the fold last week after two months out following knee surgery. But the Black Cats custodian suffered a hip injury in training to halt a possible £750,000 switch to the Cottagers.
