Andrew Cole knows Fulham face a tough task as they aim to erase the memory of last weekend’s 4-1 hammering by Chelsea.

The veteran striker knows that bouncing back from the derby disappointment will be easier said than done at Goodison Park.

Cole told the club’s official website:

“It’s going to be a very, very tough game because they’re flying at the moment. I don’t think anyone would have expected them to be in the position they are in. They work very hard, they’re very difficult to break down, so we know it’s going to be difficult.”

The former Manchester United forward was bitterly upset by the manner of Fulham’s thrashing at the hands of their local rivals last Saturday.

“Everyone at the club is very disappointed. I don’t think we played as well as we could have done and that’s just really disappointing. I’m the first to look at my own performances, and I was disappointed with myself. To lose 4-1 at home, and to Chelsea, was not a good feeling.

We know they’re a good team, but we could have made a better game of it than we did. We didn’t play to our potential. We know we would have to play very well to beat them, but we didn’t get anywhere close to that.”
