Fulham have been handed a massive boost with the news that Steed Malbranque is ready to return from injury.

The French playmaker has not played at all this season due to a groin injury suffered during the summer.

The 24-year-old is now set to make his comeback and will play for Fulham’s second string against Leicester on Wednesday evening.

“Steed has looked very sharp in training and is chomping at the bit to get involved in the first team,” reserve team manager Paul Nevin said.

“It’s an ideal opportunity to get some minutes under his belt.

“However, I doubt he’ll last the full match because we need to protect him just in case he’s involved at the weekend.”

The Cottagers take on West Brom at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.
