Fulham striker Facundo Sava will miss the start of new Premiership season after picking up a knee injury in the friendly defeat to Celtic on Sunday.

The Argentine hit-man was forced from the field 14 minutes from time with suspected knee ligament damage.

Sava is expected to be sidelined for at least six to eight weeks and will subsequently miss the Premiership kick-off on August 14th.

Fulham have yet to confirm the full extent of the injury but will be disappointed to lose the striker with the new campaign just around the corner.

In light of the news, Cottagers boss Chris Coleman will be pleased to have bolstered his striking options with the capture of Andy Cole from Blackburn on Sunday.
