Fulham forward Brian McBride and defender Carlos Bocanegra head a four-man contingent of European-based players in a squad named by U.S. coach Bruce Arena on Wednesday for a friendly with Poland.

Joining the two Fulham premier league players for the July 11 clash in Chicago are Manchester United goalkeeper Tim Howard and Hannover 96 defender Steve Cherundolo.

The match, the second meeting this year between the two, serves as the final tune-up for the U.S. before the semi-final round of World Cup qualification play in the CONCACAF Region. The U.S. opens the six-game series on August 18 away to Jamaica.

‘This roster is an excellent blend of youth and experience, which is the formula we think will help us be successful in World Cup qualifying,’ said Arena, who can earn his 50th win as manager of the U.S. team with a victory against Poland.

The U.S. won 1-0 when the sides met in Poland in March.
