American goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann arrived at Fulham from MLS outfit Colorado Rapids in the summer of 1999 but couldn’t displace the excellent Maik Taylor from the number one jersey. The Seattle-born keeper made just four first-team appearances for the Whites and gained first-team football on loan with Rochdale and Reading. After moving to the Madjeski Stadium on a free transfer in 2002 following that loan spell, Hahnemann made more than 300 appearances in seven further seasons with the Royals.
