Mark Pembridge might have been a veteran when he joined Welsh international team-mate Chris Coleman at Fulham from Goodison Park on deadline day in the summer of 2004. The tenacious midfielder might have played much more than he had expected in his first two campaigns with the Whites, finding the net against Chelsea in his first season, and making 37 appearances the following year. Pembridge was restricted to just five games in 2005-06, but one of which was a peerless performance as the Whites beat Chelsea in April 2005. The midfielder was considered surplus to requirements the following year and it was no surprise that he was released by Lawrie Sanchez. Pembridge returned to the club as an academy development coach and spent eighteen years in various capacities with at Motspur Park before leaving two summers ago following an academy reorganisation.
