Bobby Petta fears for his future as he believes that Fulham are unlikely to offer him a permanent deal following his loan spell in London.

The Dutch winger has spent the second half of this season on loan with the Premier League club but looks set to return to being one of the forgotten members of Celtic’s first-team squad after talks with Chris Coleman over his future provided little in the way of enlightenment. Petta made just five starts for Fulham – with his eight other appearances coming from the bench.

Petta told the Daily Mirror: “I recently had a chat with Chris Coleman, but I couldn’t say I was any wiser after it. If it is up to me then I want to stay with Fulham, however I just don’t know what will happen. The manager kept saying he wanted to see more of me. That’s ironic because he is the one who decides whether I play or not. I don’t know where I stand, but the impression Coleman has given to me is that he has no reason to keep me at the club.

A Fulham spokesman wouldn’t be drawn on the speculation, saying: “Nothing official has been decided as yet but this is now the period when the manager will sit down with the chief executive to decide which players are wanted for next season.”
