Martin Djetou is desperate to secure a permanent deal to stay with Fulham after helping the Whites finish ninth in the Premiership this season.

The French utility man, comfortable at either centre back or playing as a holding midfielder, impressed after overcoming injury problems in his second season on loan in west London and he told the club’s official website that he hopes to have done enough to make his move from Parma permanent.

I hope that I will be able to stay at Fulham. We need to arrange a deal with Parma but these things are never simple.”

Chris Coleman is keen to conclude a permanent deal with the Italian giants after Djetou become increasingly influential in the second half of the season. Djetou enjoyed a regular run in the team, although he was not shy of pointing out the disappointments in what has been a brilliant campaign.

“It was nice to get a good spell in the first team. I was glad to be able to help the team and Cookie. We played well against the bigger teams but we could have done better against the teams around our position. It was a good season but to stay in a high position, we needed to win more games against sides like Wolves and Leeds. But it was nice to finish with an away win at Bolton.”
