PSV Eindhoven are looking to put together a package to tempt Fulham goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar back to Holland.

The 33-year-old has been a consistent performer since joining Fulham back in 2001, but reports are suggesting he is ready to end his career in his homeland.

PSV are in desperate need of a top class keeper, with Ronald Waterreus moving on in the summer, and coach Guus Hiddink has highlighted Holland’s number one as the perfect choice.

Van der Sar has a further season to run on his deal with Fulham, but it is being suggested he wants another crack at European football, in particular the UEFA Champions League, something which The Whites are unlikely to be able to offer.

Unless something startling happens between now and the end of the season, PSV seem set to secure a place in Europe’s premier club competition next term – which would provide Hiddink with the financial muscle to put together a package to lure van der Sar to the Philips Stadion.

Fulham would be loath to lose their number one, but a decent offer combined with his reported desire to move on could well see a deal struck in the summer.
