Former Nottingham Forest star Mark Crossley has confirmed that he would love the chance to help the club out of the trouble.

Forest are struggling at the wrong end of Division One and Crossley admits he would like the opportunity to return to The City Ground.

Crossley played nearly 400 games for Forest before joining Middlesbrough in 2000 – whom he left last season to join Fulham.

“I am injured at the moment but I would certainly be willing to come back on loan, but because I am contracted at Fulham it is out of my hands,” said the keeper.

“I picked up a knock when a knee went into my back so I don’t know if I would be fit for this weekend. I will have to wait and see.

“But they wouldn’t have to ask me twice to go back.

“If Joe Kinnear wants to give the Fulham manager a ring that’s great because they don’t need to ask me whether I want to come back.”
