American international striker Brian McBride has agreed to sign for Fulham, according to a report in the Daily Telegraph.

The 31 year-old forward, who had been in negotiations with Blackburn Rovers for the past two months, has turned down a move to Ewood Park after they demanded that he agree a 50% wage cut if Rovers were relegated this season. McBride has instead opted to join his international team-mate Carlos Bocanegra at Fulham and is flying to London this afternoon.

Fulham have agreed a fee of around £700,000 with Major League Soccer for McBride, who has scored 75 goals in 177 appearances for Colombus Crew. The forward has previous experience of playing in England, having first played in the First Division for Preston North End and then scored four goals in eight games in a half a season at Everton on loan.
