Chris Coleman says Sean Davis has shown Louis Saha how to get over any transfer disappointment with his brilliant display against Everton at the weekend.
The homegrown Fulham midfielder was desperate to leave Craven Cottage in the summer and handed in a transfer request only to see his £5.5m switch to Goodison Park collapse following a failed medical. With Saha rumoured to be upset at not being allowed to make his ‘dream move’ to Manchester United, the Fulham manager highlighted Davis’ dominant display against the Toffees in the Whites 2-1 win at Loftus Road.
“That was the best I’ve seen Sean Davis play and I’m not just talking about this season. I’ve played with Sean – he’s an outstanding young talent – but his overall performance was incredible.
“Sean is really starting to mature now. Before the match and during half-time he was going around the dressing room and geeing the players up and giving advice to young Adam Green, which I thought was tremendous. He’s come through a tricky period but since he’s been back in the team it’s gone really well for him. The fans love him and we were all delighted when he said he wanted to stay.”
