Facundo Sava is delighted to be back in the Fulham first team picture – making his return as a substitute against Portsmouth on Monday after two months out with a dislocated shoulder.

The Argentinian forward almost had the perfect impact, seeing a late header bounce back off the crossbar as Chris Coleman’s side sought to add to Louis Saha’s brilliant brace on Monday. Sava told Fulham’s official website:

“I am very happy. I’ve been out since September with my shoulder injury and that was very depressing, but just to be out there again and being part of a team who are doing so well was fantastic.

“My shoulder is fully recovered now. I still need to do some strengthening work, and of course I need to get back to match fitness, but everything is good now. It can be difficult coming back when you have been out for a while, but you have to be ready – if you are needed you have to be there. I have worked very hard in training every day to be as ready as I can.”
