Fulham striker Barry Hayles is confident he will sign a new deal with the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old, who joined Fulham in a £2m-switch from Bristol Rovers five years ago and is keen to commit his future to the London club.

“I’m extremely happy at Fulham and would be happy to extend my stay here,” said the Jamaican international.

“Hopefully I can sit down with the manager over the next few weeks and discuss my future.”

Hayles added on his personal website: “My own contract expires at the end of the season and I’m pleased to say that the manager has given me a strong indication that he’d like me to sign a new deal.

“I think most of the current squad would love to stay here under Chris Coleman.”
