Chris Coleman says he will wait as long as possible to see whether Luis Boa Morte can line up for Fulham against Newcastle United this afternoon.

The Portuguese winger missed Saturday’s scoreless draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers with a hamstring injury – and the Fulham boss is planning to give one of his key players a late fitness test. He told his pre-match press conference:

“It’s possible Boa could play but he’ll have to improve over the next 24 hours. We lacked penetration and pace without him on Saturday and were a bit sloppy. In the Premiership you need players who can produce something out of nothing and Boa’s one of them.”

Fulham are short of other options up front with Argentinian striker Facundo Sava still sidelined by a shoulder complaint. Sean Davis is expected to continue his ongoing recovery from knee problems with the reserves this evening rather than come into contention to face the Magpies at Loftus Road.
