A youthful Fulham reserves side were beaten 3-1 by Southampton at Woking this afternoon.

England youth internationals Chris James and Liam Fontaine made their debuts at this level alongside first appearances for Daniel White and Ishmael Koudio. They were joined in an experimental starting line-up by Northern Ireland youth international goalkeeper Will McFrederick and Daniel Stratford, who were both starting for the reserves for only the second time.

Southampton went in front midway through the first half when Fulham failed to deal with a corner, but the Whites equalised with a quickly-taken Neale McDermott free-kick. The visitors scored at the start and end of the second half to record a comfortable victory.
