Fulham manager Chris Coleman is preparing for a red hot atmosphere at St. Andrew’s tomorrow afternoon as his high-flying side get set to take on Birmingham City.
The Whites, who were the overwhelming favourites to be relegated from the top flight after Coleman was installed as the youngest Premier League boss in history, have surprised everyone with an outstanding start to the new campaign. But the likeable Welshman has warned that his side will have to be at their very best to leave England’s second city with all three points. He reckons that this meeting could be a bad tempered affair – after three red cards in the two meetings between the sides last season.
“I don’t expect it to be any different this time, actually. We all know it is fanatical at St Andrew’s. It will be a great atmosphere. They will be just as fired up as we will and there could possibly be fireworks again. You never know, both sides could come out and play fantastic football and serve up an exhibition but somehow I don’t think so, going on past form.”
