Chris Coleman has got used to the pundits writing off his Fulham side – and he is happy for it to continue as the negativity is helping him deliver big results.
The rookie Fulham boss, tipped to be the first Premier League manager to lose his job, revealed that he had used the bookmakers odd to fire up his players before yesterday’s sensational 3-0 win at Tottenham.
Coleman told the Sunday Mirror: “What gets us going is the fact that everyone claims we are favourites for relegation. “Nobody fancies us to do anything. Even our odds here today were 4-1 to win. I mention these facts in the dressing-room and it spurs us on.
We were all disappointed against Everton last week. We needed to put things right, become more difficult to beat, and the players did exactly what I asked of them.”
