Chris Coleman slammed Fulham’s below-par first half showing at Goodison Park that condemned them to defeat by Everton this afternoon.

The Fulham boss was deeply disappointed with his side’s slapdash defending that saw the Toffees surge into a three-goal lead inside 35 minutes.

“It was all over after 10 minutes. We were 1-0 down away from home and you’re not going to bet on us to get a result with our away record. It was disappointing. We’ve got to realise that we can’t go away and play like we do at home – it’s one thing saying it, but another putting it into practice. Even in the first half we made some chances and played some good football but on the flip-side of the coin, when we didn’t have the ball Everton looked like they were going to score.”

We tried to change it round a little but the game was finished at half time. You could say that we won the second-half 1-0 but we got nothing out of that game at all. I’m not even looking at the second-half performance, the way we played in the first half is what we’ve got to concentrate on.”
