Fulham have angrily denied a report in the Fulham Chronicle that the club are in discussions with Chelsea about a proposed ground-sharing arrangement at Stamford Bridge.

A statement on the club’s official website this afternoon:

“Following the story that appeared in The Fulham Chronicle written by Paul Warburton, the Club would like to state that the alleged quotes made by Chester Stern are a complete fabrication of the discussion that took place.

Chester Stern said: ‘I take grave exception to having quotes invented for me and put into my mouth. This is not only unprofessional but represents a gross distortion. I intend to take action to ensure that the Fulham Chronicle redresses this situation and does not misrepresent me or the views of Fulham Football Club in the future.’

The Chairman, Mohamed Al Fayed, issued a statement last week regarding a review of the Club’s plans to return to Craven Cottage next season and this remains the plan.

No further discussions have been held with Chelsea and no discussions are expected with Chelsea.”
