Everton have had a £3.5m bid for Sean Davis rejected by Fulham.

David Moyes had made the 23 year-old midfielder one of his main summer transfer targets, but the London side have rebuffed what they describe as an unwelcome approach.

Fulham chief executive Bruce Langham told the club’s official website: “We received a £3.5m offer from Everton yesterday afternoon which we turned down immediately. Our evaluation of the player is at least double that, however even with that valuation Sean Davis is not a player we would want to sell anyway. As I have said before, the Club wants to hang on to its best players and as such, offers like the one we had yesterday for Sean are unwelcome. However, as I said before, if any player makes it clear that he wants to leave the Club that puts us in a very different position.”

Davis, a key part of the side that won promotion to the Premier League two years ago, received a call-up to the England senior side last season and Fulham are not willing to lose one of their prized assets.
