Former Fulham midfielder Paul Trollope has joined Northampton Town on a free transfer.

The Welsh international was released by Fulham at the end of last season after five years at Craven Cottage. Trollope, 30, has also had spells with Derby County and Torquay United in a ten-year career.

Cobblers manager Kevan Broadhurst said:

“We’re delighted to get someone of Paul’s experience. I’ve appointed Paul as the captain, he is a leader, you need leaders. He is one of those people who know when to get out there, know when to push on, know when to sit off, know how to talk to other players to get the best out of them. I trust this demonstrates to the supporters the ambition of the club.”
