Jean Tigana admitted Fulham were fortunate to move into the third round of the InterToto Cup yesterday after squeezing past Finnish side FC Haka on away goals.

Steve Marlet fired the Whites ahead but the Premiership outfit were forced to hang on after Mikko Innanen’s equaliser midway through the second half. A relieved Tigana can now plan for a meeting with Greek outfit Aegaelo in the next round, but the Frenchman was unhappy with Fulham’s performance.

“I was nervous at the end but remember it was only the second game we have played in pre-season. Once again we created lots of chances but couldn’t convert them. I was disappointed in our play. We need more quality in the box. It’s not just the strikers – the midfield need to score sometimes. I think overall we were a little bit lucky today.
