Fulham are locked in talks with Vitesse Arnhem winger Victor Sikora as they try to persuade the Dutch international to reject Ajax in favour of a move to Craven Cottage.
The Dutch champions were thought to be favourites to sign the 24 year-old but reports from Holland claim that Sikora is keen to ply his trade in the Premiership whilst Vitesse don’t want to sell one of their prized assets to another Eredivisie side.
The Whites only made contact with Vitesse about Sikora’s availability on Friday but negotiations have proceeded swiftly with intensive discussions taking place both before and after Jean Tigana’s side were held to a goalless draw by FC Haka at Craven Cottage in the Intertoto Cup yesterday.
Sikora has scored 21 goals in 95 games since signing for Vitesse from Go Ahead Eagles in 1999 and has won six senior international caps.
