Chris Coleman could return to the Fulham first team in their Intertoto Cup match against FC Haka at Craven Cottage this afternoon.
The Welsh international missed the whole of last season as he worked his way back to fitness following a car crash. The popular club captain’s return would be a big boost for Jean Tigana, who will be without Lee Clark and Luis Boa Morte for the meeting with their Finnish opponents at Craven Cottage.
Haka, who were beaten by Liverpool in last season’s Champions’ League, will have to do without top scorer Valeri Popovitch, who has a fear of flying. The Russian veteran has scored seven goals in twelve games this term but coach Olli Huttunen is upbeat. He said: Â “We fared well in Yugoslavia without Popovitch. He shouldn’t be taxed with tough trips. We have a strong squad at the moment so we will manage without him.”
