Italian international Antonio Benarrivo has called for Fulham director of football to resign after the pair fell out following his failed move to the Cottagers
The former Parma full-back considering legal action for loss of earnings after being courted by Baresi following his appointment to a new role at Fulham before the Whites pulled the plug on a proposed deal.
Benarrivo told Italian sports daily Gazetta dello Sport:
“Franco Baresi and I have been friends for a long time and we enjoyed great times together with the Italian national team, but he should resign over the way he treated me. While I was waiting to sign for Fulham I lost three teams because of them. I refused to renew my contract with Parma, said no to Birmingham and also said no to Bolton. Now here I am, out of work because of Baresi and Fulham.”
